Laura De la Cour.
Coordinator:
I joined Brighter Futures in 2014. Before joining the charity, I worked in nurseries caring for babies and pre-school children up to the age of four.
At Brighter Futures, I help facilitate the Achieving Better Connections (ABC) Group, as well as two Growing Together groups each week. I also facilitate our Incredible Years Parenting Programme when it is running.
- ABC focuses on developing positive relationships and strengthening attachments between children and their parents or carers. I particularly enjoy this work as it uses fun, therapeutic and structured play activities to encourage connection and build stronger relationships.
- Growing Together supports parents and carers to strengthen their relationship with their child through play, shared activities and learning together. The programme helps parents recognise the important role they play in their child’s development, while supporting children’s communication, confidence, social skills and overall development.
- Incredible Years is an evidence-based parenting programme designed to strengthen parenting skills and support positive parent-child relationships. It helps parents develop practical strategies that promote their child’s social, emotional and academic development while encouraging positive behaviour.
I really enjoy working alongside parents, carers and their children, seeing their confidence grow and watching the positive changes they make together.
