Louise Pires.
Senior Practitioner
I started working at Brighter Futures in September 2021 as a Keyworker ā I was a previous client of Brighter Futures, so this was one of the main reasons that I applied for the role. I have been Senior Practitioner since January 2023.
Previously, I worked in a Jersey primary school supporting the emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and their families.
Iām trained in all areas of Emotional Literacy Support, I am also Youth Mental Health First Aid trained, and a Drawing and Talking practitioner, which was a large part of my role at the primary school I worked in previously.
At Brighter Futures, I help to facilitate the Achieving Better Connections (ABC) Group with my colleague Carla, and I also help to facilitate two āGrowing Togetherā groups per week.
ABC is all about developing positive relationships and strengthens attachments between child and carer. I really enjoy this sort of work as it involves fun, therapeutic structured play activities.
